As promised, I have some photos of that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I got in late this morning so I didn’t get any photos before they started to strip it down.
To be perfectly honest, the new leather looks out of place. It’ll need new carpet and a new headliner to tie it all together.
It starts right up, and sounds like a sewing machine as it runs.

Yeah, I don’t like this.

Yeah I think I agree with you. The old seats look dopey, but they fit with everything else. I like the leather, independent of carpet and headliner.

As the interior is restored/improved it reminds me of this commercial from when I thought it was cool to stay up until 1 am Saturday nights:

Yeah, the cloth interior looks better IMO. The leather looks too mid-90s Euro car/office chair-y. Not a fan of this owner’s choice.
I’d maybe have approved of a more natural tan or brown colored leather if it was done in the right sort of pattern.

Honestly I think our Ranch Brown would have gone well in it except for the fact that all the plastic/carpet/etc was blue or dark gray

Yeah, dark gray and brown can work together, or blue and brown, but probably not all three together.

Land Cruisers need cloth. I wish mine had cloth.

hey, quick question. Bottom seat panel leather repair with cushion fix on one seat and cushion fix and resew on another bottom seat panel...$450 sound like a fair price? I had a guy quote me that to fix up my cruisers seats.

I’m sad the other interior is gone. Does the leather tighten up at all? It looks kind of loose. I don’t know how to describe. Not trying to bash anyone’s work, but it just doesn’t look fitted.

Yours is an FJ80, right? Sounds about right. If you had a Roadwire authorized shop nearby I’d just get the cushions from them. If you were here I’d do both front seat bottom cushions for $400. But that’s new material with only a few layers of new sewing foam - not bad but not firm at all.
If you can get the new cushions I’d tell whoever is doing that to put them in since it’ll save labor for you.

It’ll shrink down - plus that’s 25 year old seat foam so it’s a little smushed.

I don’t think they are using factory cushions, it sounded like custom repair (i.e. steaming the old ones, and gluing in more cushion)

Ah ok. Makes sense.

New cushions for both sides at $310
I could see about getting parts to you to do it yourself. How are you with hog ring pliers?

Well, I’ve heard of them now that I’ve googled them...

Just came in to encourage you to do it yourself. I installed a Katskin kit myself once. Turned out awesome. Better than this FJ62 (not to brag).
